Spooky Spiders per They Draw and Cook

Conoscete il bellissimo blog They Draw and Cook? ... bè se siete golosi e amanti delle illustrazioni dovreste.
Artisti da tutto il mondo inviano a questo sito delle ricette illustrate, scorrendo le pagine potrete comporvi un menu, cercare piatti esotici, ma soprattutto rifarvi gli occhi con dei veri capolavori.
Sono centinaia le submission finora raccolte ed è già stato realizzato un libro che raccoglie alcune delle più belle.

Seguo TDAC da parecchio tempo ormai e da subito avrei voluto spedire il mio contributo, ma non è per niente facile illustrare una ricetta e guardare quello che altri illustratori hanno già fatto è al tempo stesso stimolante e terrificante ... Pensieri del tipo "farò mai qualcosa di decente?" si annidano nel cervello.

Allora ho cominciato a pensare a qualcosa di super facile e che si potesse fare in famiglia ridacchiando e imbrattando tutta la cucina, magari con i propri bimbi .... qualcosa di goloso = cioccolato.

Ho mischiato un po' la ricetta per il salame dolce con quella delle praline di cioccolato di modo da poter fare delle "polpette" di cioccolata e poi trasformarle in animali, ragnetti in questo caso, con le stringhe di liquirizia per fare le gambette e gli smarties per gli occhietti ... ma si possono fare anche topolini e tutti gli animali che volete ...

Fare dei ragnetti di cioccolato era perfetto per Halooween e allora ecco i bambini che sgattaiolano nei miei costumi preferiti ... ie il piccolo Spiderman ;)

@___@ poi ho un po' modificato ... ovviamente mi ero fatta prendere un po' troppo dalla passione per l' horror ...

Ci ho messo parecchio a finire questa illustrazione per loro: ritagliandola nel tempo libero tra un lavoro e un altro e quasi disperavo di riuscire a inviarla per Halloween, ma eccola lì e inserita nella Happy Halloween collection fino al 31 ottobre.

Do you know the beautiful They Draw and Cook website? ...Then you should, if you love food, cook and illustrations.
Artists from all over the world send their illustrated recipes to this site and by scrolling the pages you can make yourself a menu, look for exotic dishes, but most of all enjoy true masterpieces.
There are hundreds of submissions and has already been produced a book that collects some of the most beautiful illustrations realized to date.


I have been following TDAC for a long time now, and always wanted to send my contribution, but it is not easy to illustrate a recipe and see what other illustrators have done is both exciting and terrifying ... Kind of "I'll never do something decent?" thought keeps lurking in your mind.


Then I began to think of something super easy to do at home giggling and smearing all over the kitchen with kids .... something delicious ... chocolate!


I blended together recipe for sweet salami with that for praline chocolate so to make "meatballs" of chocolate to turn into animal's bodies, spiders in this case, with strings of licorice to make the legs and smarties for the eyes ... but you can also do mice as well as all the animals you can think of ...

Making chocolate spiders was perfect for Halooween so I simply added the kids sneaking around in my favorite costumes ... ie the small Spiderman;)

Of course I had to change this a little ... obviously, got caught a little too much by my passion for horror movies...

It took me a long time to finish this artwork, working on it in my spare time between a job and another, and almost despaired to send this in time for Halloween, but there it is inserted into the Happy Halloween collection until October 31.
